This tweet from BASF uses green imagery to greenwash the brand and links to a misinformation/greenwashing page on the BASF website. It also uses the misleading '#sustainable' hashtag, and appropriates the '#OnlyOneEarth' and '#WorldEnvironmentDay' hashtags.
This is a classic example of greenwashing and misinformation that uses green imagery that has nothing to do with BASF's polluting business, and hijacks hashtags used by the environmental movement, attempting to trick the mind into a false associations. The tweet links to a website full of false solutions that distract from the agenda of increased plastics production. It also reinforces the #sustainable hashtag that has gained widespread use among industrial polluters.
